Clara's Clara
(Golden Blonde Ale)

We took the finest American Pale and Carapils malts. Added premium Saaz hops imported from Czechoslovakia. Mixed in just a bit of wheat. And created a golden-colored blonde ale with a light, thirst-quenching flavor and a hoppy, dry finish. Which makes Clara's Clara, we think, pretty darn amazing. Just like the woman, Clara Driscoll, who inspired it. Because in 1903, Clara took the phrase "Remeber the Alamo" to heart when she purchased the land around the Alamo with her own money and saved it from certain destruction. We suspect she'd have remembered Clara's Clara, too. And, perhaps, bought a great deal of it as well.

Beer Profile:

Blond/Golden Ales are a pale blonde variation of the classic pale ale. However, Golden Ale more closely approximates a lager in its crisp, dry palate, noticable floral aroma and light body.

Brewers Comments:
We use 90% two-row pale malt for fermentable extract and 10% Carapils (dextrin malt) for body/mouthfeel. Only imported Czech Saaz hops are added to the boil for both bittering and aroma. The result is a light golden top fermented beer which has a hint of maltiness but finishes clean and dry.
